Hey everyone!
This is my latest project.
I found this dirty dusty bench table in the basement. After a good scrubbing, I sanded and painted it a cream white color. I loved the newly painted table, but white just wasn't doing enough to inspire my creative juices! So I opted to paint the table with some pink & purple! After adding a pop of color I was so much happier! You know me, I can't stop there! LOL Im such a girly girl... so I sprinkled my table with a little bit of glitter (or a lot of bit).
This is what it looked like at Day 2:
I was really enjoying the table. I left the table outside overnight to dry. =)
When I woke, I realized that was a BAD idea....
OH no!
It rained and 1/2 of my paint washed away. =( Bummer
As I was outside assessing the damage, the distressed look was kinda growing on me! Little by little the negative thoughts I had began to get replaced by Heck Yah.... I'm digging this! LOL
What it looked like the Day 3:
Even after all that, I decide it was still lacking. So I decided to add a decorative zebra stripe border. I didn't do it all in one sitting, I took breaks in between settings and after a total of 2 more days. I allowed it to day overnight, the very next day I began apply a coat of polyurethane. Allowing it to dry in between coats, 3 days later and 10,000 coats (what it seemed like) of polyurethane, the table was complete.
The end result: (Day 8):
I think the table turned out GREAT, what do you think? Is this project
too big for you, or just right?!?! I'd love to hear what you think of my
brand new craft table!
